I'm not quite sure what's up with the weather in Nebraska lately - record high temperatures of 66 degrees in January - but I would like to do two things...
Number 1: NOT complain, nor take for granted the fact that this weather is completely out of the ordinary. In fact, I will enjoy every last second of the warm winter weather.
Number 2: To all of the people that stated repeatedly this past fall 'we're in for a really long, hard winter' and 'there's going to a TON of snow this winter - it's going to start early and stay late' - - - I would like to tell you to go suck it.
It just proves my point that people don't know what the heck they're talking about. So why on earth are you trying to be a downer in an otherwise happy day of mine??
When did the majority of the world become pessimists??
What ever happened to my fellow, happy-go-lucky, view the world with rose-colored-glasses kind of people??
I miss them.
Sure it'll get cold. I bet it'll probably even snow again before winter is over. But can we stop being so negative - and enjoy life for a minute??
On January 5, 2012 - in Omaha, NE - I was outside and went on a 1.13 mile run/walk with the puppies without a coat on. It was amazingly wonderful. So much so, that I almost forgot it was January - or maybe (if even for a tiny little minute) I forgot I was in Nebraska...
Either way, I am grateful for the warm weather, and the ability to get outside and enjoy it. In January. ...for as long as it lasts.
