Dual purpose

Stace Ann Reed-Osthus. She is my niece that is six months older than my younger brother. She has always been more like my sister than my niece. She is my best friend. The memories are endless and I could fill page after page after page with stories that would make you laugh, would make you cry (okay, maybe only make me cry...) and make you shake your head, wondering WTF is wrong with these girls?

She has been there for me in all different kinds of emotions and stages of my life - just as I have always been there for her. There is no judging, there is only unconditional love. That's not to say that we haven't had our moments - but at the end of the day - or sometimes days (weeks?) - we always know that when it really counts, we'll be there for each other.

We always have the best time together, no matter what we're doing. The last time I went to visit her - we were suckered in to attending a 'laser light show'. The advertisements were awesome! The fliers? Top notch! We went - and [because we're stupid] we sat right next to the guy that was running the show...

It. was. ridiculous. Random little flashes of light in the shape of barns, and covered wagons, and Indians on the side of a building, with a Sioux Falls, SD history lesson. But we didn't want to be rude and get up and leave halfway through. We didn't want to insult the guy that we had sat right next to. So we endured. And mumbled under our breath in a language that only we would understand, about how retarded this was. But we still had fun.

I think if you have someone in your life that you can make any moment in your life fun - no matter how boring, or awful, or uncomfortable, or silly - then you are very fortunate. And you should consider yourself blessed.

So really, it only made sense that she be my Maid of Honor.

Because I said it was a dual purpose blog:
Stace is modeling the bridesmaid dress that I chose for the wedding.
